Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

People are often surprised at how glands can affect their body and how quickly they can disrupt the smooth running of our "machine"

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (Often referred to as Polycystic ovaries or PCOS) is an example of this.

PCOS

Those with Polycystic ovaries - or PCOS - may not only struggle with excessive facial hair and weight gain but will probably also experience challenging fertility problems.

PCOS does tend to run in families and, if left untreated, I'm afraid it can potentially lead to later health problems such as endometrial cancer and Type 2 Diabetes. If you would like some more information about PCOS please click here

Patients typically come to me with low self-esteem having become utterly depressed at their situation remaining unresolved. And many feel unwell on their prescribed medication.

If you are in that situation it might be useful to know that whilst  PCOS cannot be cured it is treatable.
